Children and Youth Sunday School
Our children and youth Sunday school classes involve children ages 3-18. We also have nursery care for children 0-2 if parents would like to join in one of the adult Sunday school or participate in the Chancel Choir. Sunday School goes from September-May.
Sunday School at Central United Methodist Church
We currently are using the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum. In this curriculum, each class is engaging an an age appropriate lesson that centers around the same text that will be the focus in our worship services. We do this because we feel it is important for families to be able to engage with and discuss the message of Scripture and we recognize that worship does not always allow children to engage the Scripture in the same way. Our hope is that through this emphasis families will be able to discuss together the different things they learned each Sunday.
We also are excited that each Sunday school class participates in worship as an active participating group on a rotational basis. For some classes this may mean singing a song, for others it might be sharing a drama, and for others it might be sharing something they have learned in class that day. It is one of the ways that we try to show that we all are active participants in worship as we gather together.
